This is not a portfolio

This site was born as a portfolio: projects, experience, a CV with better photos. There is nothing wrong with that, but a portfolio is a photograph taken for someone else to look at, and over time I wanted this to be something else: a place of my own, where I decide what goes on the front page and why.

So I have turned it around. The portfolio has not gone anywhere (it lives at /work, with the experience and the project write-ups, and I intend to keep it in shape) but it is one room now, not the front door.

What I want this to be is easier to live than to define: a place to write, about what I build and about what I think, with space for what happens off the clock and room for whatever comes next. Some of those ideas are already taking shape, others are still just ideas, and I would rather leave the door open than promise dates I cannot keep. I do not know exactly where this ends up yet, and I would say that is the point.

Everything written, projects and notes alike, lives in the blog.
